How a car battery is serviced
The longevity of the battery and uninterrupted operation directly depend on its quality, production technology, proper operation. The latter implies competent care of the battery. This service involves the following items:

- check the level, electrolyte density;
- check the reliability of connections;
- recharging if necessary;
- checking the electrical equipment of the vehicle.
The external inspection looks for cracks in the case. If any are found, the battery must be repaired urgently. Be sure to remove all dirt and dust from the battery, inspect and clean the ventilation holes in the caps and plugs.
Another important point is to check how tightly the battery terminals are connected to the starter wire lugs. It is important that the contact area is unoxidized and maximum. If a fouling is detected, it is cleaned, the tips wiped, lubricated with petroleum jelly and the bolts tightened.
If the car undergoes a comprehensive technical inspection, not only the density and electrolyte level, but also the degree of battery charge is checked. If necessary, it is charged to the required level.
