Before you start making any repairs, having all the tools in place is necessary to save time and convenience when the repair work takes over.

Among the items required include;

  • wrenches
  • denatured alcohol
  • electronic contact cleaner
  • screwdrivers
  • soldering iron and solder

Broken Infotainment

A broken infotainment can be challenging to repair by yourself. But before proceeding to call a technician, here are a few steps you can take to salvage the situation. Disconnect the battery or hold the power button to see if it works.

Below are the steps to follow when disconnecting the battery;

  • Step 1. Start by removing the key from the ignition
  • Step 2. Try accessing the hood to trace the battery
  • Step 3. Remove the -Ve terminal

Static Issue

When you are busy listening to your favorite music, and all of a sudden it gets interrupted, the sense of frustration sets in. This, however, can be solved because, in many cases, the problem is static.

How to fix it? The possibility of the static breaking is a result of faulty wires or blown-up fuses. They interrupt power from revolving evenly, leading to breakage. The first thing to do is to ensure that the wires are firmly connected. Replace any faulty wires in the audio system as soon as you realize they are worn out.

Note also, that failure to replace such can lead to further damage, including amplifiers, tone control circuits, CD players, and many parts of the car radio system.

A Broken Antenna

The signals will keep breaking when you have a broken antennae issue. This is one f the easiest problems to solve. It is done by;

  • Loosen the nut located at the antenna’s base using a wrench.
  • Removing and replacing the antenna. Using a hair dryer, heat some glue around the antenna’s base and disconnect the antenna from the car’s wiring. Reassemble the new antenna to the wiring and remove any glue spills from the base; the problem should be over.
